Write the script

One line is one beat. How lines are timed, what shouting does, support lines and the {directives}.

One line, one beat

The script is the video. Every line becomes one text clip, shown long enough to read and rounded to the music, so it lands on the beat. Short lines read best: one to five words. Six to twelve lines make a typical Reel.

Edit it as Cards (one card per line, beside the preview) or as Text (the whole script, good for pasting). On the timeline you can drag clips to reorder or resize them.

Shouting and support lines

  • SHOUTED or exclaimed lines become full-frame colour cuts that land on the bar. Use two to four for emphasis, not every line.
  • Support lines: add a smaller line after //, like 40% OFF // this weekend only.

Directives

Razzle's director picks moves, sizes and cuts for you. To choose yourself, end a line with directives in braces, separated by spaces: Big rush {zoom 2}.

DirectiveValues
Moveslam zoom whip-l whip-r drop rise spin shake pop mega

Colour cutbg:accent1 to bg:accent4; plain for no cut, even on a shouted line
Text colourink:accent1 to ink:accent4
Colour wipeswipe, swipe-right, swipe-up

An ending that slams on the zoom, then keeps the web address over the footage in the accent colour:

SEND IT! {zoom 4}
yourshop.in {plain ink:accent1}
Use directives sparingly. Most lines look best left to the director.

Look and pace

The Style tab sets the look (Punch, Editorial, Poster, Keynote), the palette, the typeface, what sits behind the words (flat, glow, grid, spotlight or HUD) and the pace: Chill, Normal or Hype, which is how long lines stay up. Every option's exact name is in the agent reference.
